This Side-scroller uses dynamic sprites to create scenery. The "marker" sprites read the map along the bottom and set the scenery sprites to the appropriate costume. It would be a simple matter to create more scenery types, and there is scope for as many maps as you can have backgrounds on the stage! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Getting hurt by things like birds, animals and scenery is a longstanding tradition in 8-bit platformers, I am surprised by how many people are surprised by this.

I shot the crow and he started to fade, but when I jumped through him he hadn't disappeared yet, and I lost a life. The Crow was living dead. I think you should have the Crows disappear faster. Love It, otherwise.

It took me ages to work out water hurt me, could you tell the player at the start please?

Where did you get the video game style text from?
It was one of the original fonts on Scratch. It was deleted.

nice, awesome, and epic, but my one peeve is that the ninja is 3d and the crows are 3d but all else is 2d. if it was all 2d it would be like UKSNES all over again.
you should make him run faster!

Because they are evil killer birds of doom. Obviously.

and you should make him use his sword. (but it is ok if you don't have the sprites)
